Mike the IT Guy Shaves His Beard for Charity
Mike the IT Guy has a new look!
After having facial hair for over 20 years, Mike Adams agreed to shave his beard on Wednesday to raise money for Olivia’s House, a local non-profit organization committed to supporting grieving children.
While he’s “definitely never going to do it again,” shaving to support a local organization has been a fun experience.
The idea to shave Mike’s beard came during a happy hour last week when HR’s President, Colby Wiesman, agreed to make a $2,000 donation to Mike’s charity of choice if he went through with it.
“Eyebrows are off-limits,” Mike exclaimed before Rande Dettinger, COO, and Colby started the initial shave before Mike “finished it off” with a razor.
“All jokes aside, shaving my beard to help raise money for Olivia’s House is an easy thing to do for a good cause and will hopefully help some children out,” he said.
Mike’s wife and kids haven’t adjusted to his new face just yet (and neither have we).
“My wife literally cannot stop staring at me,” Mike says. “She keeps telling me how much I look like my brother and dad.”
